The idea of Imperial Springs International Forum was proposed in 2011 and wasjointly initiated in 2014 by the Australia China Friendship and ExchangeAssociation (ACFEA) and the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC). Itsaim is to promote mutual understanding, consensus, and regional and globalcooperation through the discussion of the important topics of economy, politics, and culture. In recentyears, the forum has actively promoted President Xi Jinping’s proposalsin the “Belt and Road” Initiative, worked to build a community with a sharedvision of human destiny, and enhanced China’s communication and cooperationwith the rest of the world. With its increasing influence, Imperial SpringsInternational Forum has become an important global platform for mutualunderstanding, greater consensus, and win-win cooperation.

2018is the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up to the world and thetheme of the 2018 Imperial Springs International Forum was “Reform and Opening-Upand Win-Win Cooperation.” Forty former heads of state and government andleaders of international organizations, together with more than 80 experts andbusiness leaders, met for discussions on a number of topics. The forum was held at the Imperial SpringsInternational Convention Center in Guangzhou on December 10 and 11,2018. On December 12, PresidentXi Jinping met with foreignguests who attended the 2018 Imperial Springs International Forum at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
